Sill Note is a notes app for Windows, built to keep your notes on your own computer. This policy explains exactly what Sill Note does and does not do with your data.

The short version

• Sill Note has no accounts, no cloud sync, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.
• Your notes, images, audio and settings are stored only on your computer.
• Sill Note connects to the internet in one situation only, described below, and you can turn it off.

Data stored on your computer

Your notes, the images and audio files you add, your voice recordings and your settings are saved in Sill Note’s folder in your Windows user profile. The developer never receives them. You can open this folder from Settings → Notes folder. If you uninstall the Microsoft Store version, Windows removes this folder, so copy it first if you want to keep your notes.

YouTube link previews (the only network use)

When you paste or drop a YouTube link into a note, Sill Note downloads that video’s thumbnail from i.ytimg.com and its title and channel name from youtube.com/oembed, once per video, and saves the result locally. These requests go directly from your computer to YouTube (Google), which receives your IP address and the video ID, as with any web request. See Google’s Privacy Policy. No note content is sent. You can turn this off in Settings → Privacy → Link previews.

Microphone

Sill Note uses the microphone only while you are recording a voice note. The recording is saved as a file on your computer and is never uploaded. The microphone is released as soon as recording stops, is cancelled or the panel closes.

Donations

The “Buy me a coffee” button opens buymeacoffee.com/stilless in your browser. Payments are handled by Buy Me a Coffee under its own privacy policy. Sill Note itself does not process any payment information.

Children

Sill Note does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new date.
